On behalf of the 2002 convention committee and volunteers I would like to invite all members and their families to join us July 24th through the 28th 2002 in Rapid City South Dakota.

We are calling the convention "Hernando in the hills" as you will be surrounded by the natural and man-made beauty of the Black Hills, were we will visit the Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments. We have also planned a trip to an old neighboring gold mining town were you can enjoy the sites of drop some coins in the slot machines. There will be a chuck-wagon dinner and music show and if you really want to get into the spirit of the region you can have a Buffalo steak at the awards banquet.

This area has been a tourist Mecca for many years and has much more to offer than we could ever hope to see in 4 days. So now is the time to have that great family vacation that you have been promising yourself. Depending on what way you are coming from you could also stop in to see some of the other area attractions on the way in or home places like Devils tower, Yellowstone park and even the infamous tourist trap Wall Drug.

The host hotel is the Holiday Inn Rushmore plaza just on the north of downtown Rapid City. They have great facilities and have given us greatly discounted rates for peak tourist season.

The show field is memorial park a large park with lots of shade trees, walk paths and a creek running through the middle, and better yet it is in walking distance of the host hotel.
